Today marks yet another milestone in Christianity as we commemorate another passage of Pentecost. It happened in the upper room on the day of Pentecost where 120 believers were waiting with one accord in prayer and supplication. Suddenly, as the bible says, a sound like that of a rushing wind, came from heaven. 

The rest was history. The Holy Spirit came down first time on earth, marking the new beginning, the birth of new covenant believers. The dispensation of Grace was fulfilled. The church was born. Apostle John had talked about the time when the true worshippers would worship God in truth and spirit.

   Although it was a coincidence that the Holy Spirit descended on the day of Pentecost, it marked the new dawn in the history of religion. The Holy Spirit came with gifts from above. Believers were heard speaking in new tongues. Peter had to stand up and clarify that it was the fulfillment of what was promised centuries before.

The Holy Spirit has come to enable the Church to walk in power as ambassadors of heaven on earth. The main purpose of salvation is to prepare mankind for the rapture of the church, where believers will be transformed into immortal bodies for the greatest event, the Wedding of the Lamb. Until then, the Holy Spirit is hard at work, calling all the people to come to God for reconciliation. 

To all those who receive Him, God gives them the spirit of adoption as sons of God, with Jesus Christ as the firstborn of all believers(John 1:12)
